The One

I'm so excited I found another inspirational blogger -- Starrgirl on Chictopia!
She also has a blog called The New Black.

Love everything in this outfit!
Blazer + long, flowy cardi + AA racerback tank dress? Love.
Another great outfit -- vint. cardi! Love.Shades of black.
Fur! Love.
I've been thinking of getting this AA racerback 2x1 tank dress on Ebay for a while now.A refreshing take on wearing the overdone graphic tee.

Not Starr, but nice outfit! I bet you can tell by now how much I like volume on top and almost non-existant bottoms? I think it's a more flattering cut for hourglass/pear shapes like me.
Oh AA.... and just as I thought I was done with you... I discover you have the tri-blend raglan in tri-black now! Oh well... it's not in store yet. I ordered one in Athletic Gray instead from Ebay.

First day of classes went alright
- long bus rides to school, to Harbour Centre, and back home. lol Today was pretty warm so I wanted to wear my shorts.. and of course all of them are short shorts. Usually I wouldn't give my outfit a 2nd thought but I was actually a tad self-conscious, while walking down to the skytrain station, that my shorts (jean distressed) were too inappropriate for school lol. How conservative of me all of a sudden! But then I saw 2 other girls wearing short shorts so I felt mucho better. Had Ling220 in the morn and Geog 322 in the afternoon. Good, nice professors as usual. Got my program proposal all signed yay! I keep thinking of how all this is gonna be when it's cold and snowing... I'll need boots!

Got dinner w/ A + BSB concert after school tomorrow! I think I'm gonna listen to some of my old BSB CDs... Millenium! Oh how happy I was when I got you for Christmas in 2000! And how much I replayed "I Need You Tonight" lol 'cause it was sang by the Carter.
Open up... your heart to meeee

No-Crack

I just felt like celebrating a bit -- I got a raise for the event planning work [throws confetti]*

Some of my fav. outfits from Chictopia:
Gorgeous girl
Lulu - Chictopia founder -- love this dress -- I wonder if she just layered the black dress w/ H&M's lace top.

Lulu love again - I want that silk H&M shirt dress! How come I hardly ever find anything nice like that there?
As you can tell, I love Lulu's outfits...
Nice coat!
She makes me want a jean jacket - that's a kids one she's wearing!
Cute shoes

[Edit]
What a coincidence -- I wrote that title b/c it was the name of a cream that was on my desk. An hour after I posted this, I checked my hotmail for the first time in over 2 months and was bombarded with over 100 e-mails (mostly junk). One of the non-junk ones was a fwd from my mom. It's a story:

For us crack(ed) pots…….

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house." The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?"
"That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them."
"For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."
Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.
So, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and quit looking at 'perfect' pots with envy (you is what you is, so be the best you can be) and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

Aw nice story.

Quitting Feels Good Sometimes

I was checking my Xanga subscriptions (something I haven't done in a looong while.. so much has changed! How confusing) and this girl from Australia mentioned that it was the first day of Spring! I still find it amazing how their seasons are totally opposite of ours, especially when, if you go somewhere along the same time zone, it's just like ours. I hope that made sense.. I'm tired and should actually be going to bed now. Butchuknow what I just realized? I have never traveled below the equator before! I remember my HUGE want to go travel to Australia back in the middle of high school. My #1 place to travel to was Australia for a long time until I got into Asian stuff. Now, if I were to rate my go-to-lust destinations, it would be:
1. Korea
2. Greece/Bora Bora
3. Japan
4. Italy
5. India
6. Australia
haha Pretty typical eh? Watch this change in a couple years... well, when I cross most of them off! I have 10 more years to fulfill my Gr 12 goal - the one Ms. Heel said while I walked across the stage to receive my certificate -- I want to travel the world before I'm 30.

Did lots and have lots to do! Got work tomorrow while most kiddies are going back to school.

Omelettes

Whew last night was sosososo stressful @ work... (and I broke a nail tooo! OH NO.)

Day off today.
I need some online shopping therapy.

Just found out YesStyle is doing unlimited free shipping anywhere for any orders before Sept 2nd!
I'm eyeing the following:
RyuRyu Double Breasted Trench Coat on sale for [$98.51CDN]
So Japanesey to me -- it's so cute!
Shiseido Maquillage Neo Climax Lip [$27.10CDN]
I cannot find a place that sells the Maquillage line here! Apparently it's exclusively sold in Asia... It's pretty much the same price they sell it for in Japan... so wonderful! **
Chanel Lip Gloss [$29.43]
Which is pretty much the same price they are here in Vancouver xept I don't have to pay tax.
Chanel - La Ligne de Chanel [$47.30CDN]
This is an eyeliner! Such a nice blue... but I'm not too sure when I'd use the blue, but I like looking at it.
I saw the lady at the Chanel counter add a touch of water and it turned into such a bold and silky eyeliner.
Shiseido Maquillage Glossy Gloss [$25.23]
The shades I'm interested are sold out right now... 2 of these come in the triple layer like below and you're supposed to mix it up before you use it... but it'll hurt so much to mix up the pretty layers! I sort of hope it's not too shimmery though.
Just Diamond Waltz Circle 18K Diamond Ring [$1,114.17CDN]
This better come with shipping insurance...
Not fond of the diamond-encrusted band, but I like the statement piece!

Very tempted to get the Neo Climax Lippy in either OR331 or RD753 but I'll be good....... and wait 'til my friend goes to Japan in November..............

I'm trying to take the Serving It Right test but it's not loading properly grr

Mini review on Stride gum -- I keep on getting samples when I go downtown. Pretty OK flavour -- citrusy with a hint of mint so it does freshen your breath a bit. I'm one of those types that throw away gum when the flavour is gone whether it's 10 minutes or 30 seconds, but I've been chewing this one for over 20 minutes! Pretty good record for me. It's also great to blow bubbles with! Snap
