You Have To Believe We Are Magic

Ok so I took that title from Pink Is The New Blog because I cannot think of one at the moment.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I love my friends.

Well today was an eventful day.
In the morning I tried
Bikram's Hot Yoga for the first time as apart of a CVC outing. It's quite interesting actually! I've tried some sort of rudimentary yoga once with Nad and that one focused a lot more on your core (your powerhouse and abs). I guess it wasn't Hatha Yoga. Bikram's yoga focused a lot of stretching, posture, flexibility, and strength. Anyway, so around 40 of us cram into this heated room with a towel and yoga mat provided by the facility. I think it's around 30 degrees Celsius in this room (not bad at all) and it did look like a beach - especially with the type of clothing we were wearing haha
So we all face the huge wall mirror and our instructor, Brad, comes in. He totally wasn't the type I'd expect to be a Yoga instructor at all. He looked more like a clean-shaven beach bum to be honest. Anyway, him being the owner and all, he seemed to know what he was talking about. It was really neat having this yoga champion girl do the exercises with us to show us how it's really supposed to look like.
How did it go? I have NEVER sweat so much in my life. I generally don't sweat a lot... if at all! So this is saying something. I literally dripped. Of course, I was nothing compared to Jason lolll He looked like he fell from a rain cloud and didn't bother to dry off! And I swear Brad turned up the heat part way through.
I really put a lot of effort into making sure my posture was correct and that I was using all my strength in the beginning... but it just got to be too much and I did feel a little nauseous (which apparently is very normal) about 1 hour in. To me, Bikram's Yoga is a lot of stretching to your limits (and stretching every single muscle you have) and holding postures that involve a lot of strength. There are apparently a lot of benefits such as reduced stress and increased mental clarity. It also promotes weight loss, prevents illnesses, and limits the effects of aging. Afterwards, I felt exactly how Brad said we should feel -- Not happy or sad, but calm and content.
Verdict: I'd definitely go again.. just not any time soon!
I should sleep like a bear in hibernation tonight.

Afterwards, Tina drove D (Diana) and I back to my house and I made Dim Sum and we played a couple games of Lost Cities. Then she went home and I studied some Japanese, printed off some notes, and organized my BUS251 notes.

Then M (Melanie) picked me up along with Tiff, D, and B (Bernice), and we went to
Jason's 20th Birthday party at Honolulu's lol. I had a great time - tons of laughs and it was so nice seeing everyone together! It really makes me feel elated when I see other people happy and having a good time.
Darn I need a new camera to bring around. I bought this Korean pre-made scrapbook-type thing from the Richmond Night Market and plan on filling it with memories (concerts and events) of my 20's (meaning the whole decade.. 'cause apparently this is supposed to be
the decade of my life!). So far I have a ticket from "Oklahoma" - the Theatre Under the Stars musical I went to with my mom a day after I came home from Hong Kong, my ticket to the Arctic Monkeys Concert I went to last minute with J (Jason Chu) and Jonathan, and a small Lee Hom ad even though I met him before I turned 20.

After Honolulu's, I couldn't go to Jason's house because I had to study... but M, D, and I ended up staying at B's house for about half an hour. I was trying on some of B's clothes (haha it can seriously be another closet for me but unfortch, a lot of the clothes don't look too good on me) and sort of watching some music clips on YouTube.

Alas, I am at home.
Oh I just realized this is meant to be somewhat of a fashion blog so here:

Ok so if you know me, you know my love for dresses.

I love dresses.

OK so I'm not really into Urban Outfitters as much as I was half a year ago because I haven't been too impressed by their ill-fitting grunge style, but they do come out with some pretty things once in a while. I like this dress ($78USD) because it can be worn all year round and can easily transition from a day dress into a night one. It also comes in a dark teal and a medium lilac, but I think this one is classier because the colour is more neutral and timeless.
Oh yea - and hellooo it's the perfect holiday dress!

This one is from American Apparel. It's actually a unisex sweater ($43USD). I would never have thought of belting an over-sized sweater! I think it's ingenious. I actually dropped by AA on the way home one day but there were only larges left in the mauve and sunshine yellow. This sweater also comes in a gorgeous Lapis (bright royal blue) that I cannot pull off for the life of me.

This is a long, big buttoned cardigan ($78USD at Nordstrom) from one of my favourite brands, Kensie Girl. I think this is a great basic and is a bit trendy with its subtle military style. It's a great piece to wear casually or to layer under a long dressy coat or on top of a dress.

Btw, I just found out that there's a Seen On MTV site where they sell clothes, jewelry, electronics, and CDs you see/listen to on MTV's shows like
The Hills (which I have still yet to watch). I think that's such a good idea especially since I always pay attention to what characters wear in those types of "rich girl drama" type shows (like Gossip Girl)! Oh I know you're curious what rich girls do with their money too ;)

I'm off to bed. Tomorrow I'm determined to study hard at Waves on the Drive with D.
Goodnight,
N

Yes I need a banner - I realize I don't know how to make one haha
I wanted to ask you actually but you're always so busy!
My theme for this blog is like http://kensie.com/ but the "site isn't loading properly" even though I downloaded the flash 9 player (!) so I don't know if it's still what I want or if they totally changed it.
