Pandas and Pretty Little Things

Was Gossip Girl not on last week? No one seems to have the episode... darn.

Morn Creations Panda Bag [$20USD]
I saw this panda face on bags quite often in Hong Kong.. and thought they got it from Ocean Park... but no! It's apparently stylish! Whoda thought. It's cute, I guess.. well this is a change purse so it's cute.. but I don't know about the huge bags they're selling on YesStyle. It reminds me of the hong mao (panda in Cantonese) stuffed animal I bought at Ocean Park (right)... and the t-shirt HAHA!! I might as well show you the new Hollywood movie coming out next year. Kung Fu Panda. Rain (the superduperfamous Korean singer/actor also known as Bi) is going to sing the theme song... and Jack Black and Jackie Chan are the voices. CUTE! So yea - let's prepare for awesomeness!
OK enough of the cutesy stuff.

I'm looking for a GIANT floor mirror for my bedroom. I want something antique-looking. I see my perfect mirror every time I watch this commercial on the Family Channel (51). It's in this girl's room and it always flashes by and it pangs my heart knowing that the perfect one is out there... in that TV... lol ok I stop.
This is one - it's a beautiful mirror and I like the shape and size and all, but it'll overpower my room and it's not exactly the style I'm looking for. Way out of budget too.
Alice Floor Mirror [$999] at Costco

I adore monogram. Monogrammed plates, jewelry boxes, linens... and this bracelet!
(Just not monogrammed bling necklaces...)

Anna Sui was in the Vancouver Sun today. She's coming to Vancouver! So here's to her:

Sorry -- unorganized, boring post... promise tomorrow's will be better.

These boots are made for walkin'

I still don't have boots.... and it's getting so cold outside!

And I'm so disappointed by the warm boot selection that's out there!
I've searched at least 12 different online stores in search for decent boots including Aldo, Town Shoes (terrible website - fire the designer), Browns, Joneve, Zappos, ShopBop, Piperlime (great site), and Urban Outfitters. I just want something casual (flat or wedged)! I do think the chunky snow boots are cute, but they'd go out of style after a year. And my mom won't let me buy suede b/c she thinks they're gonna go out of style soon. I don't mind the ones with fur, but not Uggs... even though they came out with some new styles this year and they're really warm and soft inside.... no. The one on the left is another "heaven-in-a-boot" made by Juicy Couture [$295]. It's very snow-bunny like.
So yea - I'm having a really hard time finding boots b/c
I'm picky on the material and where the seams are placed...
Anyway, here are my leather findings!!

Juicy Couture Cardiff Flat Boot [$595]
Perfect boots! ......But out of my price range.
Shopbop.com

Frye Bonnie Boot [$328]
Shopbop.com

Dolce Vita Houston Slouch Riding Boot [$350]
I've wanted brown Equestrian-type boots for a long time now...
These look buttery soft and they're a bit slouchy
Shopbop.com

Delman Kimana Flat Boot [$495]
Found on Piperlime.
I like this one because it's very plain and looks like it'd make my feet look shorter. I know I don't have Paris Hilton's size 11 feet, but it's hard to find boots that don't make my feet look like platypuses.

Equestrienne Boot [$150]
This one's from Urban Outfitters.

Frye Dorado Riding Boot [$458]
Also from Urban Outfitters.
Hmm classic riding boot? Perhaps. Not really my style though.

Miss Sixty Belle Boot [$265]
Great detail.
I don't know about how it turns up at the front though.. I guess it's designed for walking like boots are meant to be!
Found at UO.

NA NA Howie in Steel [$110]
Found on Piperlime.
Fun boot! It looks vintage inspired.

2 pairs of boots, 1 more coat, 1 more pair of jeans, & 1 more top and then my wardrobe would be complete....
for now.

Do you have boots? Where did you get them from? Tell me! I'm desperate haha

Pretty... pretty busy

Whoazies me! It's been 2 days without a post... hmm what have I been doing?
On Friday, M and I baked some carrot pineapple muffins (b/c she had a pineapple she didn't want) and shortbread cookies (using these music-themed cookie cutters she just bought) with icing... and I found out that I'm one horrible icer haha. On Doyoubi (Saturday), I was supposed to go to B's place, but I forgot I had to finish my Business Assignment on WileyPlus (WHICH apparently had technical difficulties that night and now the assignment is due on the 6th!!) so I didn't head over until later and we both bussed out to Steven's house.
I found out a bunch of people's bra sizes, was reunited with the Vancouver-based LoveBoaters (L-R: Bern, Steven, Me, Katrina), ate tooons of junk food, listened to Steven's band (Gardenburst) jam to a few songs (here's a very short clip that doesn't really give their band justice), and played Wii (karaoke/Big Brain Academy/Rayman Raving Rabbids). Super late night - got home around 4:15AMish. Theeen this afternoon, I woke up around 12:30 and got my mom to go for a light jog around Clinton Park. It was nice.. except her stamina wasn't very impressive at all... We ended up admiring the new renovations to my first house (the one we moved out of when I was 2 on Grant Street) for a while. On the way back, a bird pooped on my head! (omg Nad.. flashback from Spain much??)

Dresses!
Peter Som Ariadne Hand Draped Dress (100% silk) [$1,945USD]
This is such a beautifully made dress - the detail!!
From ShopBop.com

BCBG Maxazria Strapless Metallic Lace Dress [$360USD]
This dress is so girlie and pretty. Found at Nordstrom.

Betsey Johnson Strapless Dot Dress [$405USD]
When I first saw this dress on Nordstrom's site, I thought "wow... that's perfectly Betsey Johnson".. and lo and behold, it is! I like the richness of the purple. This dress is fun and cute but I don't think anyone over 24 should wear it. It's too young.

Rachel Roy Grace Dress [$1,500USD]
It's not so obvious why I like this dress - it's not something you'd call cute or even nice when you first look at it. I think I like it b/c it looks sophisticated and tasteful... like something you would wear to New York's runway fashion week.

A week ago, I added ClustrMaps to this site because I was curious who has actually visited my page. So neat I got a couple hits from Australia and 1 from what looks like Nunavut!

* Il fait froid *

I don't think I've ever had to "roll out of bed" until this school year. Even though I only go to school 3 days a week (max), it's like a constant debate with myself every morning I have classes. I weigh out the pros and cons of going to school and go through each class, convincing myself that it's not worth going because all the notes are given to us... or I could always copy notes off a friend... or nothing was due and I could spend my time more effectively sleeping or doing something else. And then when I actually make myself go to school, I'm always like "why am I here..." yeaaa... and today I proved that going to class really isn't necessary to get decent marks!

Whoa this is my 2nd post today! It might make up for the upcoming weekend.

Bern introduced me to a Korean Indie Band called Mary Story. They're style isn't like North American Indie - their songs are basically the alternative soft rock version of Korean songs. Here's a song - check them out! You can download their whole album HERE.

I don't know about you, but I've been a chilly willy! *** Well, only my legs and feet... but last year I was fine all throughout the winter! I even wore those flats allll winter (and was on the news for being so ridiculous.....) but I was totally fine! Anyway, the coldness made me think of warm accessories such as earmuffs, scarves, mitts, and legwarmers. I'm not a hat person - you can get your hat dose on Bern's Blog. ***

Scarves ***
I think I know what I want from my Secret Santa now...
I've been trying to look for the perfect winter scarf for the past 2 years. Last year, I saw a huge gray chunky knit scarf at Zara for $50 but I couldn't bring myself to buy it then. Now, Abercrombie has some scarves for $50 and less!
Abercrombie & Fitch - Chunky Knit Scarf [$50CDN]
It's really probably only $35 CDN.. they just jack up the prices on their site.
This looks soft. I just have to check out how long it is next time I go down to the states before I put it on my Secret Santa wishlist. This is something classic. I love chunky knits... and it's white/cream! There are so many cheap scarves out there from Sirens etc. that look similar but they're made out of cheap material. I hope this is different!

Abercrombie & Fitch - Fairisle Scarf [$50CDN]
I quite like the whole Nordic/Scandinavian look when it's made modern. It's rustic and has a winter detail to it. I even like Aritzia's Cowichan Knit sweater (the one that's gray and cream and has either snowflakes, eagles, moose, or the TNA symbol on it). I want the moose one... they say it'll come out again in December...

Abercrombie & Fitch - Ribbed Scarf [$50CDN]
Classic classic. A red scarf! I love red scarves. I wish the logo was half its size though...

Abercrombie & Fitch - Stripe Scarf [$50CDN]
Cute!

A&F also carries a few nice pairs of legwarmers but I think those can be made by my mom... I just want plain chunky knit ones.

I need to have a good night's sleep tonight,

Stella McCartney

I've always thought Stella had something other designers didn't. Her style is generally very clean, simple, and modern, but sometimes she likes to exaggerate details and will make dresses with giant sleeves . She makes sportswear, street wear, glammywear (my own term), shoes, bags, and accessories. Chic with a twist. She's popular right now for designing for Adidas! I just received my LouLou Magazine today and I tabbed one of her coats. Unfortunately, I'm having a really hard time trying to find a picture of this coat online! I took a pic of the mag instead.
I like this coat [$300CDN] because it looks warm and cozy. So many of us suffer fashion-wise in order to stay warm in the winter... so sad. I'm trying to find ways not to. I can't pull this coat off (too puffy for me) but it's nice to look at and I'm sure it'll look great on others. You can wear it 8 ways b/c you can wear it backwards (zipper in back or front) and the sleeves are detachable to make a vest! The 8 ways include wearing the coat with only 1 sleeve... lollll I also like how the quiltnedness is subtle...
Another reason why I like this coat is because it's cream/white. I adore white! All year round... white white white.. light, white flowy dresses for the summer, sheer white blouses for the spring, crisp whites for the fall, and snowflake/creamy whites for the winter.
Yes. White. I like white. If you're ever stuck on which colour to get me, white is almost always a safe choice!
Speaking of safe, I hope everyone had a safe Hallowe'en! I didn't do anything this year... except for eat candy.

I saw a picture of Junsu's twin, Junho, today with some SM employee:
Junsu:
I can see some similarities between him and Junsu, but they also look quite distinctive, too. Good genes run in the family. Maybe that's what happens when your mom is a former Miss Korea.

Short post - I wasn't even going to post today because I was so tired... but I drank some green tea and was wide awake!

Ton Ton [Knock Knock]

I've just decided that I'm going to develop a Habitat Suitability Index for the American Badger jeffersonii subspecies as my GIS final project (worth 30%). It seems like a huge project.. and Professor Hedley wants us to just use the project as a base and take it to a whole other level. I need to think of what I'm going to do and really understand my project in order to do a good job.

Currently waiting for my ice cream to freeze. I bought Green Tea Ice mix from H Mart (Korean Supermarket). It was all in Japanese so I had my sensei translate for me. Super easy to make.. and the beater tasted good so hopefully it'll turn out! If it does, I'll buy more because it was cheap (under $3).

I love kids. They're so fun and cute! lol I even baby-stalked during my trip and managed to take a couple photos.
I've taken a strong liking to Mini DBSK. I just became a fan yesterday night! haha
I don't really know if there's a story behind them, but I believe SM Entertainment chose each them to represent a member of DBSK. It's so cute how alike they are to each member - in looks and personality. They (well most of them) made their first appearance in DBSK's Balloons Music Video and ever since, they've amazingly gained huge popularity and instantly formed a huge fanbase. Then they were on another Korean show called StarKing and everyone couldn't help but notice how adorable they were! Now they model clothes, have their own commercials, and hold their own fanmeetings! They have the total star treatment and they're totally loving it.
Here are the future heart breakers:
Moonbin (age 10): Mini Yunho
He's perfect as Yunho - this guy is the oldest and seems the most leader-like. He has such a cool personality.. like he'd be one of the cool kids in school. He dresses so well and has this confident air to him. He has potential to be good-looking (by Korean-tastes) in the future.

Inhwan (age 6): Mini Junsu
Ok I'm biased towards this guy. Here he is modeling for some kids clothes. He has the best personality! He's always SO happy and is such a great brother... and his SMILE! His smile can light up a million rooms. Here's Junsu with Mini Junsu:

Donghoon (age 7): Mini ChangminThis guy is such a shy cutie.

The last 2 don't really seem to have much of a personality.. I don't know too much about them though:
Chanhee (age 8): Mini Yoochun
Here's Jaejoong with ChanheeThis guy doesn't seem to smile/talk much.
SungWoong (age 9): Mini Jaejoong
This guy is a bit funny looking... his teeth... I really haven't seen very many pictures of him.

Kids are so lucky - they have the nicest clothes and they almost always look good in them... and what's more is that they don't care how they look! They just want to play and eat ice cream.

Oh speaking of ice cream, I'll go check on mine --- yay it's ready! It tastes just like what it is - Green Tea Ice. It's not creamy enough to be ice cream (b/c there's only milk in it) - it tastes like Bubble World's Green Tea Milk Slush.

I'm gonna make dinner tomorrow -- I don't know what to make but I'm inspired by fennel 'cause I watched a couple shows on the FoodNetwork and both chefs used fennel. I think I want to make a fennel salad.

No fashion today.. but I'll quickly tell you about my adoration for
Mario Badescu's Special Cucumber Lotion (Toner) [$15USD for 8oz.]
I swear by this stuff. It's a toner/astringent so basically you moisten a cotton pad with this stuff and gently wipe your face. It takes out all the grime and any extra residue off your face and is VERY effective getting rid of your acne! Even if I think I washed my face thoroughly, I use this afterwards and the cotton pad has traces of makeup and even sometimes dirt (in the summer) on it. Gross but it totally means it works! It has cucumber in it so it's soothing, non-drying, and non-irritating. I had Steph get this for me when she was in L.A... but you can get it here for almost double the price at BeautyBar I believe. I only use it once in a while because I still have the Wild Cucumber and Lettuce toner from SkinFood that I still have to finish.

If you go to Mario Badescu's site, you can get free samples of products that suits your skin type when you fill out this questionnaire! It's quick and easy and they send you a bunch of mini pots of what you should use (all free!). I actually did it twice (around 6 months apart) and both times they sent it to me... and that's how I found out about this stuff. Yay - good quality stuff. Go and get it!

Pure Divinity

I just came back from a Spa party with Nad hosted by Venus Gillette at La Vida Spa across from the Sheraton Wall Centre! It was cool - the room was a lot more intimate than I was expecting but all the employees were very pleasant. There was a food table (see right) full of veggies, dips, fruit, fondue, cheeses, breads/crackers, +smoothies....
but the best were these brownie/cheesecake/cake cubes dipped in chocolate.. felt guilty eating them especially b/c I just ran earlier today. There were waiter-like guys who came around with chicken skewers and these filled potato thingies and shrimp wrapped in noodles.
It was pretty happening with a DJ spinning some house music. At each corner, people were getting henna on their hands, makeup applied, a massage, and hand/arm massages. Nad and I got our hands massaged with oils - felt nice while she was doing it but I didn't feel any different than I felt before afterwards.

Nad and I also
went back to the mini photo studio to get our picture taken a few times! That was fun!
At the end, we got a goody bag full of body wash, an umbrella, an exfoliator glove, and a razor. They gave us over 30 samples of their new Pure Divine Gentle Exfoliating Body Wash so guess what you girls will be getting next time I see you!!

Thanks, Nad for today!

It'd be the best if everyone in the room were my friends! We'd be served with unlimited spa treatments, great food and drinks, and fantastic music... all at no cost!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for fashion, here are a things I saw while browsing around YesStyle (are you sick me hearing about this shop yet?) that I found interesting.

Have you ever seen someone keep a light scarf from coming off with a belt? I thought it's a neat idea but can be tricky to pull off.

This dress [$68] looks cute on the model but it's made out of some cheap material and the stripes don't go all the way around. I don't like it when garments do that - it looks so unfinished and cheap if a stripe just ends at the seams on the sides! Anyway, if this was made well, it could look quite chic on a lot of people... especially since the stripes are subtle.

I thought that this Cocoaavenue “Fitted Suspender Skirt" [$55] looked cute. I do not, however, like all the folds it creates below the waist - makes it look a little tight. I do realize that this sort of looks like what a lady from the 70's would wear to work, but if you're young, you can really wear almost anything and it'd be OK.

I love love love this Fully Beaded Vintage Envelope Clutch [$100USD] by Jeanne Lottie. It's so neutral and glammy so it goes with a lot of evening wear.
